This is what ido not understand about GOD?

I'm a christian but at times I struggle with keeping the faith. Something that I have never understood to this day or had adequately explained is how an all loving, benevolent God, would create people who will suffer their entire lives only to die and go to hell because they didn't have it "right with christ" and weren't "born again". Or picked the wrong religon. I know a lot of christians make excuses for this but none ever make sense to me. For the life of me I cannot wrap my head around it and believe me I've tried. I just find it mind bogglingly contradictory.
