If I underline something when I write it, do I italicize it on the computer?

I am writing an English paper and I mention the name of a music album, Raymond V. Raymond by Usher. I know that I should underline it on paper, but I am not sure if I should italicize it on the computer. I vaguely remember my teacher saying that you underline things on paper because the human hand can't write good italics, so you should italicize it on the computer? Is my long-term memory right or wrong? Thanks!!!
